Our Story

Dedication and Service

Welcome to The Stories Project!

In 2021, our journey began with a simple yet profound vision: to work alongside people living with disabilities in Western Australia, empowering them to unleash their creativity and tackle life's challenges head-on. At the heart of this vision is Utsav Thapaliya, our co-founder, whose journey from being an international student to a passionate advocate for inclusivity and empowerment inspired the inception of our organization.

Utsav Thapaliya's journey took a significant turn when he began working closely with individuals with disabilities, witnessing firsthand the untapped potential and creativity within each person. Motivated by this experience and driven by a desire to make a tangible difference, he envisioned a platform where these stories, talents, and solutions could be celebrated and shared with the world.

Thus, The Stories Project was born.

Since our humble beginnings, we have had the privilege of supporting over 400 individuals living with disabilities, as well as thousands from culturally diverse backgrounds. Through our programs, workshops, and initiatives, we aim to provide a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to pursue their passions and overcome obstacles.

Utsav Thapaliya brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. With a Master of International Relations, a bachelor's degree in social work, and a Diploma of Community Services, his academic background is complemented by years of hands-on experience in various organizations, including ActionAid and Red Cross.

His dedication to social causes has also led him to serve on numerous organizational boards, contributing his expertise and insight to drive positive change.

Furthermore, Utsav Thapaliya's commitment to making a difference has not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized with multiple awards for his outstanding contributions, further fueling his passion and dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

At The Stories Project, we believe that everyone has a unique story to tell and a valuable contribution to make. We invite you to join us on this journey of empowerment, collaboration, and celebration of diversity. Together, we can create a world where every voice is heard, and every individual is empowered to thrive.
